She Swims The Night

by Renwick Berchild

that clashes and eats at her tired soles. Unmarried women
don’t walk alone, so she dares it – whispers, Come on, breathy anxious
with wheels going round in her inner life. The troglodytes remain
shut up in their homes, rectangular mirrors smiling in their eyes.

Sometimes alone is where all your answers lie;
Sometimes in the wilderness of your thoughts, you’re no longer shy;
Sometimes deep in the silence of solitude, there you find your soul;
Sometimes in the midst of your own space, you get to realise your whole.

Curtains visible through the windows
Dusted, arranged and silently waiting

On the edge of the wooden park seat.
Is he reading the book of his life in his mind
Chapters removed for end of life peace?
