‘Shadows of reality ‘

by Harry

Too afraid to walk down there
With the shadows of self doubts following,
I close my eyes and world drops dead

Wait till you see the whites of their eyes

by Harry

Submitted by zaroffpoetry

.

Will i be a better man than my father
who cheated on my mother 8 times
sending letters
leaving women in Florida crying
where his motorcycle was parked
and the grass had died
visit me and my brother
once a month in
VW’s
Chevrolet’s
throw some money at us

“A warm smile is one beyond compare”

by Harry

Submitted by zaroffpoetry

.

Can i count on you to call me home
black sparrow

you don’t really know someone until you make their toes curl

pulling their head back
with hair
Cumming in them
biting their
tender
bottom lip
tasting their saliva
while they quiver
around your epidermis

Between Us

by Harry

Submitted by Christine Magee

.

I need you now
yet the air between us
is so crammed with silence
that my words
cannot find their way
to your ears
we cannot kiss
with a moon separating us

The Gift

by Harry

Submitted by Claire Carroll
.

The gift my parents accepted on my behalf
was a gift not of my choosing

The gift, a result of years of indoctrination
Was a gift worth losing.

November Day

by Harry

Peter M Burns
.

November Day.
No worries:
Just shoot the breeze
In convivial companionship with
Autumnal liberated leaves
Protecting scavenging hungry mice
From mouths that seek to feed upon them
As they scurry to and fro.

Poppies

by Harry

Submitted by Christine Magee

.

I moved with her in her shadow,
always running behind,
keeping in perfect step with her mood
and trying to usher her out into daylight
so that I could gather poppies in the sun.
If I succeeded, I was invited to dance
and we’d twirl round and around.
I’d throw back my head
as I burst into her laughter,
weaving in and out of her displeasure
and leaping onto the pages of her good books.

On a drab canvas.

Change of Seasons; Change of Heart

by Harry

Submitted by Adrian King

.

With the falling leaves
Did his ambitions reign high
But end soon appeared.

Down came silent snow.
Christmas season had arrived
Yet gifts brought no joy.

Wasted Potential

by Harry

Submitted by Tom Higgins
.

He worked for years
And he worked very hard
He went to the clock
And he punched his card.
He sold his life
By the hour
To the guy
In the Ivory tower.
Then came the day
When he could see
The way that life
Was meant to be.

roadland

by Harry

Submitted by riverzeal

Website: http://mudlines.wordpress.com

I met a man the other day
He said his name was Hemingway
Just another soul to stray
To try to read and stack away

I once worked as a servant
Nervous weren’t working merchants
So I quit and fell earnest hungry
Introverted in, in, into the current

The Ink Is Dry

by Harry

Submitted by Peter M Burns
.
The ink is dry,
Absorbed,
Into the arid desert of the page
Creating mirages of muddled thought
As a drought of imagery shrinks,
Stains the cavities of the brain.
Blinded blankness cannot navigate
This desolate terrain,
Where words escape
Singularly or collectively.
Each struggles to imprint,
In vain.
Time refills in lettered surges
That flow across the vastness
Of the paper plains
To fertile lines
Ploughed by pen in fields of rhyme
To ripen into dreams that mice
And men can read and follow,
When the ink flows.

One Fine Evening

by Harry

Submitted by Sachini Pramodya

.

The words spoken
In a busy city
Among busy crowd
In a crowded bus
Now and then
In fine evenings

One evening
when the sky is heavy
with rain clouds
YOU approached me.
It started pouring

fallen leaves of autumn

by Harry

Submitted by Ratnendra chauhan
.
There it was much used and rotten,
hiding among the fallen leaves of autumn,
Leading to the places unknown,
much better than those which were ever shown,
Must’ve been a hard walk down to castle ,

TWILIGHT

by Harry

Submitted by angelbeamsblog

.

Another day ends with the moon rising slowly
I welcome you, twilight, though with a heavy heart
Birds taking flight to their faraway homes
The Earth preparing to rest her tired soul.

Trees opening their arms to shelter the creatures of the morn
After a tiring day of hunting and gathering
With droopy eyes, tired wings and limbs
Returning hastily to nests, holes, branches.

How do I drown in the depths

by Harry

Submitted by twistdbutterfly

.

How do I drown in the depths of your lies when the deepest parts of you are so shallow the water lilies wilt and die
While the depths of me are filled with undercurrents with hidden rushes of power that suck you under when you don’t expect it
Maybe that is why in desperation I I clung to your shallow rooted truth

Teardrops

by Harry

Submitted by angelbeamsblog

.

A single teardrop shed,
Not out of pain but,
Of love gained.
For the flicker you kindled in my heart
Has grown into an everlasting flame.

Another teardrop shed,
Not for things lost but,
For the fulfilment that
Those sweet moments together hold
Rich enough to last a lifetime.

Down In The Dungeon

by Harry

Submitted by Peter M Burns

.

Down in the dungeon where the
Black rats play,
Spiders decide which webs
They will spin
For prey,
As slugs slowly
Munch their way,
Through the detritus of the day.

If

by Harry

Submitted by Peter M Burns

.

If,
Genetically we are cousins
To bananas,
Then,
In a generically way
Being similar,
Say,
To an apple
Fallen from a tree
Isn’t necessarily proof of gravity,
More a consequence of maturity,
Ripeness,
Than observational correctness.

most tender of feelings

by Harry

Submitted by Nita S Iyer

.

Comment: Why do I keep denying this most tender of tender feelings?

What terrifies me of surrendering to its soothing embrace?

What holds me back from plunging into its all-consuming fire?

A fire so pure, consuming the muck I carry around

Gathered efficiently through ego-battles of a life-time?

ODE TO FEAR

by Harry

Submittted by ANNAPURNA SHARMA

.

Struck by fear!
Nah! Not me.

The hideous ants furrowing around sugar candy
The obnoxious locust crawling in the savannah
Ah! The goose bumps are common. Not my fear!

The offensive cockroach sprinting over leftovers
The spineless lizard nesting over the wall
Are a housewife’s nightmare. Not my fear!

In your ugly corner of heart

by Harry

Submitted by Tahira Kaleem

Your unmet desire
To fulfil your evil wish
In your saint attire
Your hand touching my body
When I was alone in the street
I was only nine with my school bag
Unaware of your eyes greed
I greeted you “hello uncle”!

No Lie

by Harry

Submitted by Peter M Burns
.

No lie can brush the truth
Nor sweep the cobwebs clear
From view if the heart has eyes
to enquire which rooms you
Choose to live in,
Or build a house
To home your dreams.
