Lies…

by Harry

Submitted by 23sakshi23

.

What are best friends?
Are they always there for you?
Do they keep secrets?
Do they hide from you?

Do they pretend they care?
Do they stab you in the back?
Do they actually care?
Or do they just use you?

only the young at heart

Seeing a new generation at
our feet.

Dear Wife

by Harry

Submitted by Jyoti

.

My life, my love is all yours,
I will gonna love you forever.

I wanna tell you that you are a bliss,
But still, i must tell you that i have a wish.

When i die, burry me in backyard of our home,
Don’t burn me with the traditional norms.

I know, on this, you would be about to cry,
But look at stars i will be in the sky.

Get me buried there, this have a reason,
Because i will always be with you every season.

If

If we were on the same step
would you reach out.
If I were hungry & dirty
would you feed me & clean me up.
If hate came knocking at your
door would you answer.

The Departure of the Laughing Girl

by Harry

Submitted by Roxana Haloiu

.

London is the place I came to holding no more than a cabin bag.

It’s not that I have more than that now,

Because I always thought that everything I own I hold within,

But for that reason I had to accommodate more smiles inside

And as the smiles sneaked in, the tears came out.

I put on a little weight you know, with all this stuff,

The care, the food, the languages, the lot

I consumed a little too much, I guess…

But sometimes I go and work hard all those muscles of longing…

We tend to each and one of them with affectionate precision.
So they can sink in oblivion like sugar in cappuccino froth

The Tower

.

She built a wall to keep out the shadows
The goblins the wolves and the thieves.
The wall was high the wall was strong
She built it brick by brick.
She wouldn’t let them hurt again
Hurt her in the deepest spot,
She has seen the ways of men
They wait for you to drop.
Sometimes on a moonlit night,
When her mood is cold and bright
She rode out on the black Audi
With hibeam on her lights.
Hair streaming in the wind
Stilettoes glistening steel,

“with grace”

by Harry

Submitted by Anonymous

.

i closed my eyes at twelve
woke up by an electroshock at one
dressed myself up with my eyes half-closed
pausing every once in awhile
to feel my heart.
it’s become a necessity –feeling my heart,
because nothing here is realer than this.
My heart’s in time.
Still in time.

The Sea, a Song I long to hear

Grey sky shroud, enfolding, smothers dark grey moods,

To my eternal muse

by Harry

Submitted by Daniel J Buro

.

It is that which whispers when all is still in the lulls of the mind.
It is that which makes the heart race when the clock strikes the calmest hour.
It is you to which my soul has assigned.
It is you to which my eye sees as the most precious flower.

True Love

by Harry

Poetry challenge: Valentines poem.

.

Submitted by Katharyne

.

The sun shines through the leaves.
The bird birds sing merrily.
I see him in my dreams.
He says he loves me.

Tell me, what is true love?
My full, fluttering heart
grows wings like a dove.
Storms tear this love apart.

A poem for valentine’s Day

by Harry

Submitted by Tsegaye Tessema Tola

.

I dreamed as if I will cheer my love- Habtish
In that dream I saw my angles’ hands on the dish
I stretched my hands and could not reach out to feed my kids
My sweet love constantly looks into my eyes in that dream and I into hers
How wondrous is that dream pulling my neck all that long to her lips for a kiss.

Isms

by Harry

Submitted by Lori MdKendrick

I had two boys, but now they have gone away
Now my life is full of grey
The loss has rattled me to the core
They are still in this world, but do not want to talk to me anymore
Raised by an alcoholic father and a mother who was an enabler
I do not need to ask why, I can see the hatred in their eyes
Everything I thought I had done right,
Appeasing the alcoholic, and never speaking out,

Murder

by Harry

They say the way to murder someone is to tell them you love them and then leave
But it’s more lethal just to lie and make them believe
Force them to think you’re there to stay
Even though you’re gonna fade away

The Legacy of Art

by Harry

I have no interest in their prophets salvation,
In their promise of eternity.
A heritage of consumption and regurgitation,
Hallowed doctrines that are truly empty.
I don’t fear hell, I don’t desire heaven.
I don’t belong to their nations,
Their castes, their mindless divisions.
Their creeds, their malicious dispositions,
Vile ideals that breed schism.
Violence in the name of religion,
Wars in the name of patriotism.
I don’t desire power, The endless rat race,
The need for higher positions.
I don’t need mind numbing materialism.

The Antipoem

Submitted by keepingitliterature

I am the antipoet,
I have no time to Rhyme.
Nor do I long for Rhythm
Or Structure- and- the like.

I am the antipoet,
Repetition and Refrain bore me,
So much so that I must repeat how
Repetition and Refrain bore me.
