by The Cheesesellers Wife

I saw my first bee today, hearing buzzing while weeding
I searched for the little fellow and found him
Bumbling around the Lungwort
Buzzing with glee in the surprise warmth
Black, gold with a red bum

The Summer Garden

by kim blades, writer

lots of different greens, golds, yellows and reds

with scatterings of white alyssum in shady glades

and yellow roses sunning in brown earth beds

while red ones climb the wall like escaping knaves

the lawn is a patchwork of gold kikuyu and green sedge

cos we’re sitting on a leather settee

watching them on a flat screen TV

Misunderstanding

I refuse to add ‘just’

as friendship is an abstraction one shouldn’t amend.
