Being shipwrecked on an island, standing alone in the sun

I realize the waves keep coming in one by one.

When you first left my life, it ripped a hole in me.

Funny it was huge to me but no one else could see.

When the storm clouds are all around me, and there seems no place to hide

My soul cries out to Jehovah God and I reach deep down inside.

For it is deep inside my soul I find provision everlasting

Knowing Jehovah Jireh is always ready to provide.

The last few years have been strangely visited by the passing of so many friends, their parents, their spouses, their children, their best lifelong friends. When you go through such a loss it helps knowing you have friends, family, and God to turn to when the pain is overwhelming and just too much to bear.  However, there are many lonely nights where it is just you and God, sharing the burden of loss.

My Heart Hurts

Waking up this morning with life’s plans rolling along.

With children, family, and friends in their places where they belong.

Hearing that my cousin has cancer drove me to my knees in pain.

My friend called to say her granddaughter has a tumor on her brain.

Having Loved Ones in heaven at Christmas sometimes makes the holidays very melancholy.   As Christians we have a hope others do not. That hope is to be with them again around the throne of God , the great I AM. I lost six dear family members in less than 9 months in 2012. This is 3rd Christmas without them… with the empty place setting, with no present for them under the tree. But thanks be to Jesus for He has set us free! Merry Christmas. Have you ever wondered if they celebrate Christmas in heaven?

always an answer better than taking your life.

The first day of school is special each year as I look up and down each row.

Looking at  new supplies, new shoes, new clothes, what is most important doesn’t show.

Within minutes, they show you who is the brightest star…

It’s also very evident who carries the deepest scars.

The Face of God

Everywhere I look I’m searching for His face

His glory revealed in each and every place.

I see Him in the sunset, the colors of heaven floating by

Even in the darkness and stars shining from on high.

The Cost of Love

As I’ve gotten older and have begun to lose the ones I held dear, it makes me search for reasons why we make the decisions we do? What motivates us to love? What motivates us to sacrifice our time for someone else? What motivates us to reach out and do what’s right and good,and others to chose to give pain and hate? I share a few of the ideas about which I’ve been thinking. What is the cost of love?

How long has it been since you talked to your Mom or just picked up the phone?

How many times have I reached for the phone and remembered she’s no longer home?

The satanic lion was prowling seeking whom he might devour.

Many people partying and enjoying life, the day was almost done.

Never in their minds did they dream they would not wake to see the sun.
