the candle

when my

Advertisement

Transparent

I never think of you
In my dawning
When dreams have early gone
and the day is eager

I never think of you
As Father Time
Drifts like lazy blossoms
Beneath a cathedral
Of boughs

I Do

Dappled sun
Stun me

I’m not real
But they see me
Going along

Running
My hands down
And
Drifting
Over vines

Transfusion

Honey

You’re so smooth

I never notice

An art of evasion

You’ve made it

Funny how

I want to believe

What rattles

Around

My own head

Funny how

I never question

That Girl

 

I’m watching myself do

All the things I said I’d never

Holding too tightly

Wanting too much

Losing me in dreams

Giving away in hope

Bending my own will

Breaking

Over

Your blue-eyed shine

Somber

Bird bones

Cradled

In dry bed

Resurrected

By the photograph

I took

It lives on
