access
for my freedom
her heart
for my soul
her fear
for my hunger
security
for need
unspoken exchanges
trading for love
bargaining for life
the invisible fine print
in the contract of marriage
the dreams and the promises
veiling the truth with romance
“there is no forever”
just an endless string of days
hung like pearls on a necklace
where two hearts make the choice
for each other, again and again
no guarantees, no warrantees, no control
unspoken exchanges
foundations for a life together
