THANK YOU FOR LEAVING ME (REFLECTIONS ON THE TRUTH)

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

 I wish I would

stay angry

the way they say

I should

But I’ve learned

that letting go

makes me feel so good

I’ve had my share

of heartaches

I’ve shed my share

of tears

but when not caring

finally comes

the hurting disappears

It takes some time

’til you can see

that life is better now

and somehow say

in an honest way

“Thanks for leaving me!”

  1. A great way of looking at it! Well done, Chuck! ❤

  2. I love this poem, Chuck. I can so identify with it, too. It’s really good to be able to let go of emotional pain, even though this might be difficult at first. It’s always worthwhile; otherwise, we just get weighed down by it all. My ex left me many years ago. Now, I can feel relieved and blessed that he did as my life definitely became better for him leaving. Thanks for sharing this poem, my friend 💙.

    • Wow! Such a wonderful and meaningful comment, Ellie!! I can’t tell you how much it warms my heart to know that this reached out and spoke to you! No better reward for a writer, is there? Happy the Universe put you on a better pathway in life too!
      😊😁💖💕🌹
