Ahhh, Jan, You are making me blush!! I love Elfchens so much more than Haiku. LOL It’s easier to count words than syllables plus it’s not limited to anything as a topic!!
Good reasons t embrace that poetic form. I need to engage in it more often. I use the Haiku format because I seem to think in 5-7-5, but I neglect the topic intent and use it for all kinds of messages! My bad, huh?
I think you would really love writing elfchens more than Haiku. You can also put two together for a double elfchen.
Here is a great post that Celaine Charles orgainized on Elfchen that I think you will enjoy and explains all about it with a lot of examples writers submits as a “potluck”. I included one? Ha!
