Holiday V

First day of a week off work
and it’s a welcome thing
as I’m in need of a long rest
a chance to breathe and sing

Put my feet up for a while
with lie-ins every morning
Rising when more sensible
and not when day is dawning

The choice to do just as I like
freedom in the making
for a few days at the very least
in this week that I am taking
