Summer days (revisited)

by Jem Croucher

9 of 10 in ‘The summer’ series from Jemverse

On the beach at low water
watching seagulls at play
the view here at Worthing
around the wide bay
of the coastline in Sussex
bathed in a blue
reflecting the sky
is a joy to eschew

So what better thing
than to sit and just gaze
at the sea and the water
on these summer days?

[The Jemverse ‘The Summer’ series revisits words I’ve written over the years about the season closest to my heart. The Jempics photo chosen to accompany the series is from June 2020. ‘Summer days‘ was originally published on Jemverse on 27 May 2018]
