Ivy Gone

by Jem Croucher

Had a conversation with my neighbour
As he chopped the ivy down
Been wondering how to tackle that
Each day now with a frown

But he provided the solution
Hacked it down from other side
Including all the overgrowth
From our shed roof I spied

It was good to share a word or two
And I’m pleased they’re keeping well
Social distancing observed of course
I’m also pleased to tell

So now we have less ivy there
As a result which is fantastic
Cos the ivy it had started
To get inside our shed of plastic
