Here in the sunshine
with birdsong soft on the breeze
I can lose myself
close my eyes and drift away
to the sweet refrain of Spring
That favourite melody

[Bussokuseki is an archaic Japanese poetic device in which lines are written in a 5-7-5-7-7-7 ‘mora’ pattern]
