It’s been a minute or a hundred years
Life has gone on and this old world has turned
The scent of your cologne, I feel you near
I am a child once again, unconcerned
It’s been a lifetime or a single day
Can’t believe you’ve been gone so long, so long
Not a moment passes I wish you stayed
Triggers and sweet times when I hear your song
Beneath the waters and above the clouds
I feel you everywhere, elsewhere, and here
Your essence lingers above any crowd
Even as spirit, my heart knows you’re there
Your granddaughter’s love, a natural law
Happy Birthday in heaven, Grandpa
