Fences

by Venkat

fences, they went up in smoke
perforating my glowing doubts
the fence I sweated to defuse
had but barbs of the wired mind

fences, they opened my soul
weaving back my frayed feet
fences, now were buried deep
sunk where waters tread not
under the sun which never sets
