It’s The Most Horrible Time of the Year

by Rhyme In Time

Based on It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

It’s the most horrible time of the year.
With the kids fricking yelling
While everyone’s telling me “Be of good cheer”.
It’s the most terrible time of the year.

It’s the crap- crappiest season of all.
With those lame e-card greetings
And fake festive meetings
For lunch at the mall.
It’s the sap- sappiest season of all.

Office parties where boasting
Executives toasting
Make merry ho-hoing for show;
There’ll be endless dull stories
Of personal glories from
Christmases long, long ago.

It’s the most blunder-filled time of the year.
There’ll be much money blowing
And more I’ll be owing;
I’m up to my ears.
What a fricking wonderful time of the year!

  1. This is hilarious and sad all at the same time. Very clever! I had to sing it as I read it, of course. I hope the tongue-in-cheek message wakes up your blogging audience to the horrors of commercializing this joyous season and sets them on a path to seeing and focusing on the real Reason for the Season! 🙏🏽❤️

    • Thank you for this awesome compliment! I’m not sure I had such lofty goals in mind with these sarcastic parodies, but I’ll take it. Please do have a genuine, heartfelt Merry Christmas. 🙂

  2. Very clever look at realism.
