Moving On

by William

It was early on that day

I really didn’t want to stay

Packed my bags where they lay

Sunday morning, it’s time to pray

Moving on to the next big city

Liked this place, so it’s a pity

But I’ve got to keep moving on

Can’t stop too long or else I’m gone

Clouds have gathered up in the sky

So very black, up so high

Any moment the clouds will burst

Just in time to quench our thirst

I’m on the move all the time

Can’t settle down and pen a rhyme

Heaven knows where a man goes

When he’s completely broken

And no one knows
