Kindness

by William

Kindness doesn’t ask for much

A shake of the hand or just a touch

A smile on the lips

And a tear in the eye

“I will pay for that”

Those magic words that mean a lot

To that little old lady who forgot her purse

Struggling because she wants to reimburse

Kindness comes from the heart

It’s always the best place to start

Kindness overwhelms the beast

When a mere sandwich

Becomes a feast
