Longing for Solitude

by Abigail Gronway

could
i duties
leave

voice
were not
noisy

speed
away to a
quiet

dream
retreat
alone

curse
selfish
dream

truth
i belong
to all

least
i belong
to one

apart
from one
being

a time
in time i
spare

i will
tarry on
there

enjoy
a refuge
sweet

and so
return a
fresh

whole
servant
ready

for my
service
again

fit to
carry on
my aim
