Eyebrow of the sun

by Jem Croucher

15 of 16 in the Jemverse ‘Venetian Vistas’ series

The expression of the sun
as it set on our last day
across the sea out to the West
was a marvellous display
The gold across the ocean
on the water spoke to me
as I heard the voice of sunshine
and the echo of the sea

It was like it cocked an eyebrow
tinged with gold as if to say
a ‘Bon Voyage’ and fond farewell
to speed us on our way
So smiling we responded
raised a hat and gave a wave
capturing this moment
as a memory to save

  1. Good usage of words for poems and rhyming. Well described

  2. I like your imagery and the imaginative way you brought the eyebrow to life!
