Autumn has returned!

by Colly

personal photo

The canvas was covered in autumn’s dress.

The gold’s, rustic orange’s and red’s attest.

In time chestnut brown’s, too, deepen in hue.

The landscape – changing, as greens – cameo,

give way to vibrant fare.

A caramel swirl, now, makes way to the ground.

As rain, diagonal by the wind, fastens it down, there, as petrichor.

Glistening in the breeze falling leaves gleam.

The chill in the air reminds winter is near.

As harvest gathers on the table.

And mother bakes a blueberry pie.

To contemplate, also, the pumpkin variety.

That bodice that adorns as a sweet, tiny, centerpiece.

The mist transcends the trees – outlining, mountainous range.

As the furnace is turned up to keep everyone warm inside –

Happy Autumn to All!
