OLD COMPANIONS

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

I Have A Couple
Of Old Companions
That I Can Always
Count On
To Stand By Me
No Matter What

It Seems We
Enjoy Each Other’s
Company,
We Have Similar
Interests And Activities

I Trust Them
With My Deepest
Secrets, Hopes And Dreams
And They Always
Seem To Be Up For
Adventure And Fun

My Circle Of Friends
Is Smaller Than
It Should Be
I Know

But Old Companions
Feel More Like Home
And I Don’t Have To
Recount My Life Story
With Them
They Know Me Like A Book

I Like The Company
I Keep, Maybe Too Much
But We Are Like The
Three Musketeers,
The Three Amigos,
Inseparable
Bound Together
Forever,
Me, Myself And I
