I STRUGGLE TO WRITE IN CURSIVE

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

A Simple
Thoughtless
And Automatic Act
When I Was Young
But Not Now
The Years
And Tears
Have Changed That

Once
A Reflexive Act,
My Hand
Following
The Dictates
Of My Mind
In Sure
And Steady
Strokes
Of A Pen
Leaving A Trail
Of Ink
Upon Paper

Transcribing
And Describing
The Invisible
Thoughts
Into Visible
Markings

With Lines
Made Up
Of Twists
And Turns
And Curves
And Edges

Creating
A Something
Out Of Nothing
But A Thought
And Whispers
Of Deep Feelings
From My Heart

Giving Shapes
A Life Of Their Own
In Words
Scribbled On Paper
In Ink
In Cursive

Sqiggly Lines
That Whisper
To You
Through Your Eyes

A Message
From Me
To Your
Heart And Soul

Whispered
To You
As Best I Can
With Ink
On Paper

Sharing
What I Feel
And Think
In A Child Like
Scribble

The Years
And Tears
And Heartaches
Have Replaced
A Steady Hand

I Struggle To Write
In Cursive
But I Still Try
