Pretending it’s your lips

.

Kissing the rim of my coffee cup
Pretending it’s your lips
Imagining the feeling
Of your hands upon my hips
Where hands meet hips and hearts meet lips
I never could imagine something better

Then the feeling that I’ll have snuggled in your softest sweater
The weather isn’t looking good there are storms all about
So the only thing that I can do is watch you go your route
Far away from me you go with sadness in your heart
And the feeling of a perfect storm we never got to start
But run to heights and soar for me
And promise you’ll return
With pages filled with lessons that you’ll also help me learn.
