Fortunate Fellow

by Jem Croucher

There’s a little dog barking
just in the sea
the gentle waves lapping
as he runs around free
People are paddling
and all having fun
Enjoying the warmth
of the full evening sun

The breeze is quite gentle
blowing in from the East
and all I can see
is a visual feast
I love being here
as it makes me feel mellow
and it’s not lost on me
I’m a fortunate fellow
