Methane Dunes of Pluto

by Rhyme In Time

Whose fingerprints gave mark to frozen plains,
These methane dunes so far from glinting sun?
What manner giant in celestial hand
Pressed planet from this ball of toxic dun?

Did this same gem once hang upon the breast
Of pale Persephone to Pluto wed,
As gift to celebrate their nuptial rites
And wear in state as empress of the dead?

Are you a planet or mere planetoid?
So many mysteries hold you in the void.
