I Often Wonder
Wistfully,
Why It Had To Be
The Way It Was
A Chance Meeting
A Sudden Attraction
And Passions
That Set Off
My Heart’s Seismograph
She Brushed
Through My Life
As A Flaming Comet
In My Summer Sky
But In Those Brief
Moments Of Time
We Shared Together
She Filled
My Heart And Soul
With An Indescribable
Ecstasy
I Came To Know
Of Heaven,
And The Rush Of Oneness
And The Fire And Fury
From Two Bodies
Melded Into One
From Her
I Learned Of Love
And The Bonding
Of Two Souls
As One
She Was Mine
For A Few Fleeting
Moments In A Summer
Of Laughter And Joy
With Nights Of Loving
And Passion,
If Only For Awhile
And When I See
A Shooting Star
In A Midnight Sky
I Think Of Her
She’s Still Mine
In My Dreams And
In The Memories I Keep
In My Heart

Inspired By A Comment On My Poem – “A Shooting Star” from “Grateful Single Mom” And My Response.
GSM: “Very nice…She comes in but wasn’t meant to stay….”
TRP: Yes, and so often the focus is the loss instead of the amazing love, joy and happiness we were blessed with, if only for awhile!!
