Sunlight

.

Dawn appeared in the eastern sky
It had been a stressful night
Sickness had ravaged the body
I greeted the morning sunlight

The warmth of its bright rays
Seemed to console, body and mind
Unrest from preceding hours
Were minimized and refined

Sunlight appears more appreciated
When darkness has prevailed
Often things we consider mundane
Have greater value, when we have failed

In like manner many years before
Spiritually, I also found this so
Conviction gripped my aching heart
And then the Saviour I came to know

Sun light, warms the body
Son light, warms the soul
The sun, God created in the beginning
The Son, brought me back into the fold
