SHE LOOKED BOTH WAYS

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

She Was A Big Girl
She’d Been Around
The Block
A Time Or Two

She Knew
What She
Was Doing
When She
Did It

She’d Played
In The Street
Before
And Loved
The Thrill
Of Gambling
With Life

She Looked
At Me And Smiled
Before Giving
Me A Goodbye Kiss

She Looked Both Ways
Before Crossing The Street
To The Other Side
To Another Life
And She Never Looked Back
