Just Because I am Me

by Harry

Submitted by L. A. Shreve

I am about to leave the place
I know.
I am about to walk into a place
In which I have never been before.

I am about to enter a place
Full of people I have never met.
I about to be judged
By what I look like, Who I befriend,
How I talk, And where I am from.
Today I will either be accepted into an alternate world,
Or denied, excluded for being who I am.
But whether accepted or denied I am not afraid
For I know I am welcomed by the creator of this world
And the world to come
Just because I am me.
