A winter poem, for children

pretty birds animated


White is winter.


Drifting snow showers those below.


And a tiny Chickadee goes a-round the


feeding tray. Foraging on small bird seeds.


Junco too flutter here and there.


Make their way from branch to branch.


Tiny feet follow a-long a white lined path.

Winter is here.


Gloves, scarfs and toques keep us warm.


A coat shields from the cold.


Layers of clothes are worn in winter.


And snowmen are formed by rolling


round snowballs on the ground.


Hello winter.


But spring will come a-gain.


When we’re ready for galoshes and the rain!
