BADGES OF HONOR

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

I Look Back
At The Us
That Used
To Be

I,
Am No Longer
Sad, Hurt
Or In Pain

That
“We”
Came To An
End

Time
Has Worked
It’s Magic
In A Way
I Never
Thought
It Could

Time
Has Healed
The Wounds
But The
Scars Remain
As Badges
Of Honor
For Me

They Remind Me
That You Gave Up
On Us
And Walked Away
When I Would Have
Never Given Up
On You
Or Us

The Truth
Hurt
But Finally
Set Me
Free

  1. Dear Chuck

…and it is always good to forive and forget – that makes a generous heart 🙂

    Thanks for sharing, dear friend
    Have a great day

    • Thanks, My Friend! You are so right about that. Not always the easiest thing to do?
      Chuck

      • Really not, dear Chuck – and often our own mind comes in-between our good-will, our mind is like a snake slipping through our fingers, not at all easy to control it. However it is also said: as we think, so we become and that means: with good thoughts we can overcome many things and from good thoughts, good words and deeds will come 🙂

Thanks, dear Chuck and have a good time.
        Didi
