By Charles Robert Lindholm
The New Year Rolled In
And I Watched The Ball Drop
Again
With Memories Of
The Year Gone By
And Wondering
What Would Be
In Store
For Me
In The Days
Ahead
So Much
Seems The Same
Each Year
And Yet
Some Drastic
Changes Find Me
Sneaking Up
From Behind Me
While Others Make
A Frontal Attack
In Plain Sight
Out Of My Control
As I Watch Helplessly
Entranced By The
Tsunami Of Life
That Has Come To
Engulf Me
I’ve Survived
Tsunamis Before,
The Ones That Weren’t
Meant To Take Me
So At The Start
Of Each New Year
I Engage In
Planning And Promises
To Myself And To Others
About What I Shall Do
In This New Year
The Message On
The Mirror Of My Mind
Reminds Me What To Do
As I Reminisce About
The Year Gone By
And Plan And Promise
For My Tomorrows
The Haunting
Prodding
Nagging
Inspiring
And Motivational
Words
“What Have You Done Today
To Make Your Dreams Come True?”
They Help
With My
Planning And Promises,
Perhaps They Can
Help You Too?
