To the world in this time
Vietnam was on everyone’s mind
My Dad was young and very brave
in Vietnam his friends he saved
This war was long, This war was hard
We lost our loved one’s near and far
Vietnam was far from home
some of the soldiers died alone

Our soldiers left brave and strong
Upon return their minds were gone
Their bodies weak, their minds unsure
They sometimes felt they were still at war
We don’t see the pain they feel
Nor understand how it’s so real
So to the world you must understand
to these soldiers we owe our
lives, liberty and a grateful hand

Dedicated to my father
