By Charles Robert Lindholm

My pen is filled
with indigo ink
that captures
the words
that are whispered
into my ear
by you,
my Favorite Muse
and soulmate

and intimate
words of love
tickle my ear
as you taunt me
and tempt me
to write what
you want from me

You make it
to focus
and make the
strokes that
need to be made
to express what
you said you
want to say
with my words
printed in
indigo ink

I’ll try my best
to capture your
plaintive pleas
to God
and me
with only
my indigo ink

but written
words won’t
do them justice
