Soldiers

by Venkat

ferry blood, nerves of steel
huddled boats of fear
pump blood, hearts of stone
into huddled boats of fear

pour sounds, in eyes encrypted
unwired sands of fire
steal sounds, hearts trapped
Into unwired sands of fire

an earth to breathe
sands to wear, nights to read
feet unboned, carry a voice

every soldier
weaved by three hearts

every heart
weaved by three soldiers

a heart of stone to take

a heart of love to carry

a heart of steel to give
