Almost frame-like

by Colly

stellar bird

The calendar has flipped a page.

The month of November is on its way.

With barren branch, gnarled, and sparse.

Where a Stellar Jay finds a post near small tray.

Will the feeder accommodate his size, weight – nay?

Hence, he pecks here – there for food on the ground.

Where moistened grass, seeds, and leaves are displaced.

The cold is setting in; temperatures deepen in depth of chill.

The snow looks to creep down the edge of this frame.

Life seems more a waiting game.

Nothing is different.

It’s repetitive shame.

Barren, the earth is silenced and waits.

Waits for snow and bitter cold to take hold.
