Halloween – 2017

by Colly

lit pumpkin

The skeletons are coming out clattering about.

Jack-o-lanterns light the night, glowing softly.

Happy Halloween & trick-or-treat vocalizing.

Colourful, whetted, leaves overlap – all pasty.

But this pathway is not for the innocent child.

Naive as they are, they trek – eager for candy.

Will I see any of them tonight; I’m uncertain?

Usually they stay away from rural dwelling’s.

Sadly, I hear doors open and close; they’re going elsewhere!

But I have, cute, goody bags with treats. (last year I got maybe two kid’s.)
