Ode to Postman

by Venkat

No beard, no red fur
A smile of the moon

No cap, no sledge

Come hopping rockets

Of love sealed, of distance

No jingle, no snowmen

Come letters of hands

held in memories of heart

No miss, no steps undone

Comes Santa everyday

Wearing a bag of sealed truths

Heavy in thoughts, light in mind

Ringing bells on nervous wait

Surprises on impatient hands

Santa of every home

Clock in pocket, of every distance

A smile dressed, on every letter

On embraces for every loss

On embraces for every joy
