I’M SORRY I MISSED YOU

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

I’m sorry that I missed you
I know we would have been friends

I would have liked to have shared
walking some of life’s pathway
with you
talking about all the things
friends talk about
things that come into
our hearts and minds
and that have meaning
and concern

life is so much shorter
than we think it is
and it goes by way too fast

I’m sorry that I missed you
My Friend,
but I am so happy
and blessed that you left
me a way to know you
and know of you
in the scribbles
from your heart
and soul
that you so thoughtfully
and lovingly left for us
to find and read
that will speak to us
through the years
of who you were
and how you felt
and lived

I’m sorry that I missed you
in person
but thank you for leaving
your words
so that I can know
your spirit and soul
and learn of
and love

the snowflake
that was
You!
