THE LITTLE SEED YOU LEFT ME

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

It starts with a seed of inspiration
a word or phrase from you
something you left behind
but never ever knew

Then the words begin to well up
and overwhelm my heart
as little lines start flowing
then pool up and then depart

Streaming toward the pen
I am holding in my hand
they spill upon the paper
like rain across the land

The little seed you left me
is magical and awesome
when watered with my words
it becomes a poem and blossoms

  1. Very nice Chuck. I can picture the words flowing from your pen onto paper!

    • Thank you Kim, for your wonderful comment! It makes me very happy to know that this spoke to you! I love finding little seeds of inspiration and then watching them grow into poetic blossoms – especially since I have a way of killing real flowers! Ha!
