By Charles Robert Lindholm

rummaging through memories
from the past
like it was a trunk
of keepsakes and souvenirs
the treasure chest of time
just waiting to be rediscovered
and relived
with its pleasures and pain
it’s love and heartache
the jewels from a lifetime of yesterdays
stored deep in the heart
safely behind the locked doors
that guard our inner feelings

a memory museum
a gallery
a mental documentary

a secret affair with the past
stealing moments from now

the pastime of a sentimental soul
