By Charles Robert Lindholm
always leave them wanting more
no tears, no crying or sad goodbye
just whispered words, a warm caress
and a kiss they’ll long for ‘til they die
no pledge of love forever
although it’s wild and deep
just hopes of time together
but no promises to keep
for lover’s can’t be owned
or commanded like a pet
love’s a daily gift
though sometimes
we all forget
a love that’s real and passionate
that reaches to your soul
is never a possession
or under your control
so when you leave them
at the door
for life’s adventures
you must explore
always leave them
wanting more
with dreams
of time together
and if you do
your dreams come true
it’s the secret of forever
