Roan

Roan

-Linda Lee Lyberg

Once all shiny and new
His paint is now worn and weathered
Floating in the air, he flew
Round and round, though tethered.

He brought smiles upon children’s faces
As they climbed aboard to ride
He took them to mysterious places
As through the air they would slide.

But now he sits all alone
As he waits in the corner of a room
This beautiful wooden roan
Needs to find his forever home.

Adorning an antique carousel
Waiting for the next happy ride
As he hears the clang of musical bells
Prancing up and down, he’ll glide.
