Fleeting

-Linda Lee Lyberg

Tis your birthday
So I seek
Solace in your arms

For this my darling
I do know
We are at the tipping point
More milestones behind us
Than ahead
Less time to lay
My head upon your chest
And listen to my Viking’s heart
As its soulful melody beats
In perfect harmony with mine
Singing, we will never part
The years have passed too soon
It seems like only yesterday
When you took me by the hand
and led me to our destiny
But now these days
Become more precious
Than I ever could have believed
With every moment you grow more dear
And unto your love I’ll cleave.
