The loving Shepherd walked among the sheep;
By name each one He called.
One lamb was missing—lying in a heap,
By angry wolf bemauled.
The wandering lamb, so helpless, weak, so dumb,
And so in need of care,
The gentle shepherd safely carried home
And tended to him there.
The Lord of glory that Good Shepherd is;
A lamb, I am secure, for I am His.
