Paradise Has Closed

by William

The doors are locked
The windows bolted
“No Entry” signs are scattered all about
Paradise has closed
Closed without a shout

Gentle winds blow no more
Waves no longer reach the shore
Beautiful maidens looking on in despair
But Paradise is no longer there

Paradise has been closed
Expenses exceeding income
Too many of those
But that’s the way it goes

Paradise limping without its cane
Won’t be opened ever again
The liquidators are busy, quoting their fee
Just like vultures fighting over the debris

There’s that little man, hands on his hips
Smiling through his blood stained lips
He is happy to see Paradise’s demise
Hatred glowing in his eyes

Heaven has now closed forever
No more debates on heaven or hell
Is this the right decision?
Only time will tell
