There are trees

by Harry

Submitted by Peter M Burns

That invite the breeze to
Ruffle their crowns of luscious green
Leaves as they see the climbing sun
Emerge from a pencil lined horizon
Reflected in its glory
In the glass façade of a towering
Multi storeyed block that
Sways to rhythms of life both

Within and outside
Who’s inhabitants begin
Each day foraging, challenging
The instinct to merely survive,
Demanding a legacy or imprint
Linger than the moment beyond
A whim,
To veto time,
And capture the breeze
That ruffles trees
