Morning Meditation

by Angela Umphers Rueger

Wind whips indiscriminately
Through clothesline and chimes.
I don’t know which thrills me more,
The sun-bleached whites
Or the pentatonic tunes.
I never tire of either—
Joyful sight and sound of summer.
