CALL ME CRAZY

By Charles Robert Lindholm

You think I’m crazy
and maybe I am to you
because I don’t believe the same
or do the things you do

But who’s to say
there’s just one way
for us to live and play
or each of us to follow

Do you have a need
for everyone
to see things
as you see them

mental clones
with the same world view
that do the things
you do

cookie cutter children
with parents just the same
everyone a number
and your number is your name

there’s more than  just one pathway
to a destination
and different destinations
that different people seek

call me crazy if you like
if it makes your life seem better
but I’ll keep the freedom of different choices
and do what’s right for me

you call me crazy and it makes me laugh
that you’re too blind to see
we all are snowflakes in the wind
meant to be

free
and different

different and crazy
like me
