Why must you be so wonderful to me?
Those lips of yours that taste of sweet red wine
Call out to me and beckon, “Come and dine.”
And I, so helpless to ignore their plea.
And why do your strong arms still take me in?
They hold me close to you, but not with force,
For I make no objection to your course
Although I know within me it is sin.
You whisper words of love into my ear
And elevate my heat until I burn,
Until my passion swells up and I yearn
To take you full inside of my frontier.
Although I’m in the wrong, I cannot lie:
Than live without you, I would rather die.
